Primera edición de la cuestion primera del libro V de las "Questiones super libro De animalibus Aristotelis" de Pedro Hispano
Abstract
The Questiones super libro De Animalibus Aristotelis of Petrus Hispanus (1205-1277), probably the oldest commentary written in Latin about the zoology of Aristotle, was discovered in 1928 by Professor Martin Grabmann, in the manuscript 1877 (ff. 256ra-290vb) of the National Library of Madrid. With this paper we want to display the realization of the first Latin edition and translation into Spanish of the Questiones, and the study of the most relevant aspects of the figure of Petrus Hispanus and, especially, of the diverse and huge number of sources used by
this author. At the end are edited and translated the first questions from Book V On the animals.
Keyweords: De animalibus; animals’ sleep.
Authors: Aristotle; Petrus Hispanus.
